Computer science is the study of computers and computational systems. This degree is very popular and in fact, it is the fourth-most popular engineering degree. Since computer science is such a versatile major, it gives you more opportunities than almost any other major. Contrary to popular opinion, having a career in computer science is not limited to just working for a tech company. Computer science is a varied field, with plenty of jobs in many different industries. Each is incredibly important and gives you an idea of what is possible with a computer science major. 1. Data Scientist
Data scientists work closely with business stakeholders to understand their goals and determine how data can be used to achieve those goals. They design data modeling processes, create algorithms and predictive models to extract the data the business needs, and help analyze the data and share insights with peers
2. Software tester
Software testers conduct tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose and any bugs or issues are removed within a product before it gets deployed to everyday users.
3. Web developer
Web Developer is responsible for the coding, design and layout of a website according to a company's specifications. As the role takes into consideration user experience and function, a certain level of both graphic design and computer programming is necessary. They try to ensure user-friendly design and navigation.
4. Systems analyst
System Analysts are responsible for maintaining and improving computer systems for an organization and its clients.. They analyze and create tests, and develop specifications and requirements for developers and programmers to follow. They usually are not involved directly in software or hardware development. They often advance to project manager positions.
5. Business analyst
Business analysts (BAs) are responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the business word by using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders.

Computer science professors teach students computer science courses. They may be employed in a university or a private company.

A chief information security officer (CISO) is the senior-level executive responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategy, and program to ensure information assets and technologies are protected.Basically, they are responsible for the information and data security of an organization.

IT Specialists are information technology professionals who monitor a company's computer systems, assess and troubleshoot errors and lag and update and upgrade systems.

Mobile developers translate code into user-friendly applications. They contribute to the design, testing, releasing and support of the application. Mobile developers are generally employed by retailers, the healthcare sector and the travel and tourism industry.
10. Research and development (R&D) engineers
R&D engineers develop new products, redesign existing products, and perform research and testing on product concepts.
